San Ysidro & El Paso U.S. Land Ports of Entry
Digital Pedestrian Signage
Apple Designs was contracted by the GSA and the Department of Homeland Security to develop a dynamic signage system at the pedestrian processing facility of the San Ysidro and El Paso (Paso del Norte) Land Port of Entry. This system smoothly directs users through the inspection process and actively changes throughout the day to accommodate operational changes in the facility. The signage system also conveys advice to the public at queuing locations providing helpful processing, security, and traveling information. The system is designed to provide necessary information to the public to minimize the need of CBP officers to direct traffic and answer questions increasing the throughput of the facility.
