Hollywood Burbank Airport: Replacement Passenger Terminal

Apple Designs is the lead wayfinding consultant and signage designer as a sub on the project’s Design-Build team, consisting of a Holder, Pankow and TEC joint venture (HPTJV). The Replacement Passenger Terminal Program development, known as “Elevate BUR” is a modernization of the airport facilities delivering a new 14-gate airport terminal and associated support components in the northeast quadrant of Hollywood Burbank Airport. The 355,000 SF passenger terminal will resolve the safety and accessibility issues associated with the current terminal. The selected “Icon” design concept offers a greater traveler experience with an enhanced statement of arrival and amenities that the BCPAA Commission was looking for in replacing the nearly century-old existing terminal with a contemporary facility that represents a more efficient design and will meet modern styles and safety standards.
