Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport (LBB): Brand Identity and Terminal Renovation

As part of the Terminal Renovation Program to modernize the entire building and the first significant change to the terminal building since its opening in 1976, Apple Designs was charged with leading a complete refresh to the airport aesthetic. The design effort started as a creative update to the terminal signage system that included completely new graphic standards (font, colors, and symbols) and an update to messaging to reflect current and future industry standards. As the terminal sign program effort progressed, Apple Designs was then tasked with developing a new airport logo and brand guidelines that conveyed a strong identify for Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport as an airport located in Texas but connected to the world. The new logo was adopted in April 2021. Currently, Apple Designs is continuing design efforts at LBB and working on extending the refresh to the airport campus with a new roadway signs system and monument gateway/entry signage.
