San Antonio International Airport: Terminal Development Program

The Terminal Development Program (TDP) which includes the design and construction of a third 17-gate terminal at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is a key component of the $2.5 billion Strategic Development Plan approved by City Council in 2021. Once built, the new terminal and associated enabling projects, including a ground transportation center, parking garage and terminal road realignment, will be able to handle passenger needs over the next 20 years. SAT is already reaching capacity, Apple Designs (providing signage design & CA) completed the opening of additional gates in 2022, two projects that were initiated to sustain the airport until the new terminal is opened. To meet the needs of expected exponential passenger growth and the needs of the community, the master architect team is working aggressively with the City to deliver the new facilities as early as mid-2028.
