WMATA Northern Bus Garage Redevelopment

The Northern Bus Garage reconstruction project is transforming the original 1906 streetcar storage facility into a modern bus facility while preserving the historic 14th street façade. The new facility will offer retail space to local businesses and support a 150-bus fleet (75 standard and 75 articulated buses) comprised of clean diesel, hybrid diesel and Battery Electric Bus (BEB) buses. In addition, the new building will include solar panels on the roof and other green features for LEED Platinum certification.
